Amanda Stone is a D-PhD mechanical engineering student at Purdue University and alumna of Arizona State University. She currently researches functional materials sensing for thermal management applications at Herrick Laboratories. Outside of academics and research, Amanda is involved in the Purdue community as a singer in the University Choir and Chamber Choir, Head Graduate Advisor for Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, and founder and president of GradSWE at Purdue. Amanda is also involved with Society SWE as a member of the collegiate advisory board and FY26 Collegiate Working Group Chair. She is an inaugural recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Member award and a Tau Beta Pi Laureate in the arts. Amanda is also dedicated to her musical career and has sung in over 17 languages with choirs across the country and world, including debuting a new six movement piece at Carnegie Hall this past May.
