SWE Fellow, Life member who served as the 1991-1992 National President, Jill S. Tietjen, P.E. is an author, international speaker, and electrical engineer. Tietjen spent her career in the electric utility industry and sits on the board of directors of Georgia Transmission Corporation of Tucker, Georgia. She was formerly on the board of directors of Merrick & Company, Greenwood Village, Colorado. Tietjen has published 19 books through 2025, written hundreds of articles and many book chapters, and spoken hundreds of times. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia (Tau Beta Pi, Virginia Alpha) and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has been inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame and the Colorado Authors’ Hall of Fame and elected to the National Academy of Construction. She is one of the co-volume editors of Women Engineering Legends 1952-1976: Society of Women Engineers' Achievement Award Recipients (Springer, 2025).
