PhD Student
Tulane University
Isabella Posey is a Biomedical Engineering PhD student at Tulane University in the Tissue Engineering and Microphysiological Systems (TEMPS) lab. She has a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. After graduation from her Master’s program, Isabella worked for two years in life sciences consulting. The major motivation for Isabella returning to academics was desiring to directly create solutions to medical problems she was seeing daily in industry. As a member of the TEMPS lab, Isabella conducts research addressing sex-specific differences in microphysiological systems and learns from leaders in the Tulane Center of Excellence in Sex-Based Precision Medicine. Isabella is grateful for the impact the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has had on her professional journey. She was honored to serve as Co-President of the graduate division of SWE during her Master’s program.
