Rebecca Hutchinson is a deputy practice builder in water/wastewater consulting with 9 years of industry experience. Her nontraditional career path started with a BA in International Studies with a minor in journalism. She is an active volunteer with the local American Water Works Association, as membership chair and now vice chair of the Rocky Mountain Water Conference. After attending one of SWE’s WE Local conferences, Rebecca was inspired to create a DEI program at her company. After soliciting input and support, she gained the corporate backing of human resources and organizational development department to create and lead a new employee-led DEI Task Force to help foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Their vision is to attract, recruit, and retain a workforce that reflects the communities they serve, fosters a safe and accepting office environment for all identities, and possesses a high level of creative, collaborative and innovative thinking.
