    Building confidence, growing industry connections, and advancing in engineering all begins with one essential element: meaningful engagement. Whether students are returning motivated by a second chance, mature students looking to change careers, or students from underserved communities, community colleges are a critical gateway to opportunity. With over 50 community colleges across Texas, these institutions are uniquely positioned to foster inclusive and impactful experiences for a wide demographic. Whether you're setting up a resume workshop, organizing an interesting technical project, or inviting industry professionals to speak, every effort matters. This session will explore real-world engagement strategies and projects used at the community college level, that any institution can adopt to help shape a more diverse, connected, and empowered engineering future.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Design and deliver technical workshops, hands-on projects, and exciting coding hackathons.
    • Arrange companies tours and invite industry speakers while building partnerships with local companies and professionals.
    • Plan and execute resume-building events and career prep sessions.
